Manifols Guages Read 50 Psi on High and Low Side
Before servicing a vehicle, confirm system refrigerant type. Cross contagion of refrigerants can cause harm to A/C arrangement, service tools and equipment.
GENERAL MANIFOLD Data:
The right (blood-red) side of the manifold is the high side and the blood-red estimate is the high pressure estimate. The left (blueish) side of the manifold is the low side and the blue estimate is the vacuum/force per unit area gauge. Separate passages from the depression and high side fittings to their corresponding gauges allow i to check pressure and vacuum readings. The manifold body connects all three fittings to each other by internal passages.
Note: If gauges exercise non read 0 psi, remove gauge face and adapt scale spiral to 0 psi.
Caution: Never open the loftier side valve on manifold approximate gear up when the A/C Arrangement is operating.
SYSTEM Performance:
Service couplers must be connected to a refrigerant hose and the refrigerant hose must exist connected to a manifold gauge prepare with both low and high side valves in the closed position earlier connecting the couplers to an A/C Organisation.
- Shut all valves on the transmission service couplers and manifold gauge set. Connect the high side coupler to the loftier side port and connect the low side coupler to the low side port.
- Beginning the vehicle. Turn on the A/C system, and let it run until gauge readings stabilize.
- If the pressure shown on the gauges differ from the manufacturer'south specs, make up one's mind the problem and make necessary repairs.
SYSTEM EVACUATION:
- Recover all refrigerant from the arrangement. DO NOT VENT REFRIGERANT TO THE Temper, Apply Appropriate RECOVERY EQUIPMENT.
- Connect the Blueish hose to the low side service port. Connect the Cerise hose to the high side service port. Connect the Xanthous hose to a vacuum pump.
- Open the High and LOW manifold valves using the Red and Blueish hand valves and start the pump.
- After evacuating the organization co-ordinate to the manufacturer's specs, close both valves and plow off the vacuum pump. Disconnect the Yellowish charging hose from the vacuum pump and connect information technology to the appropriate refrigerant container.
- Later on all connections have been made, the refrigerant can be added through the low side per manufacturer's specifications.
CHARGING AN EMPTY SYSTEM:
- Vehicle engine and the A/C organisation must both be off.
- Make certain that the dispensing valve on the refrigerant source is in the closed position.
- Make certain that both the high pressure and the depression force per unit area valves are in their closed position.
- Connect both high and low couplers to the A/C system'due south corresponding service ports. After connecting the couplers, open up them by turning the knob on the top of them clockwise until they stop.
- Open valve on the refrigerant source.
- Open the low side valve on the manifold gauge set.
- Charge organization until gauges read over 50 pounds of pressure level.
- Close depression side valve on the manifold gauge set.
- Turn off Loftier Side and Low Side valves on the manifold gauge set.
- Go to step # iv in Charging an A/C System that is low on Refrigerant (below)
CHARGING AN A/C SYSTEM THAT IS LOW:
- Brand sure that the dispensing valve on the refrigerant source is airtight.
- Make certain that both the high force per unit area and the low pressure valves are airtight.
- Connect both couplers to the system'southward service ports. Afterwards, open them by turning the knob on the top of the coupler until it stops.
- Showtime the vehicle. Ensure adequate air flow through the front of the vehicle to avert overheating.
- Plow on the A/C and fix controls for MAX Absurd and high fan.
- Open the dispensing valve on the refrigerant source. (Keep the refrigerant source upright at all times and then that refrigerant tin only enter the hoses as a gas.) To begin adding refrigerant (with arrangement running) open up the Blueish low side valve. Allow the gas to flow into the organization until the desired amount has been added or until the source container is empty. Getting the required refrigerant amount into the arrangement may accept several minutes.
- When you accept charged the system to manufacturer's specs, close the manifold's bluish valve. Let the compressor run and check the gauge readings to exist sure the arrangement is operating properly. If not, repair the organization as required past manufacturer's service manual.
- To disconnect the manifold when the system is filled and operating properly, close the BLUE (low side) and RED (loftier side) paw valves on the manifold.
- To disconnect the manual coupler, turn the knob on it until finger tight. Slide the coupler sleeve up, releasing the coupler from the vehicle's service port.
- Supercede protective caps on vehicle's service fittings.
